About the Owner and Builder

JT Smith is a father of 2 young kids (2 and 4 years old at the time of building this search engine), and big proponent of "create the world you want to live in". I want my kids to have access to the full power of the internet, but safely and built with great educational and family values.

JT has been involved in the search business for a long time and has had a lot of success on the paid ad side of search. Those are the ads that appear at the top of nearly every search engine. But JT noticed a lot of problems in the search industry and set out to build unique search engines that better fit the needs of groups of people. Some of these search engines have been quite successful, but didn't quite fit the needs of kids, families, and schools, and thus was born ABCsearch.
